New Kids on the Farm

February 4th, 2009 · No Comments

I have had goats for years.  My current herd is Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats.  We have had one doe kid this year and she had twins.  I don’t believe there is anything cuter in the world than baby goats.  Right after she was born we had a bitter cold snap with temperatures in single digits so the baby goats got to sleep in the house for a few days.  The following pictures are of the babies right after birth and then waiting for their dinner in the house.

Just for the record, the baby goats NEVER went to the bathroom in the house.  Goats are incredibly clean and easy to house train if you choose to do that.  She slept in a dog crate and went outside as soon as she came out and again after eating.

Randy wasn’t thrilled about it but acknowledged that it was MUCH too cold to leave them outside at 6 degrees.  Kisses only weighed about 2 lbs.
