The Goat Brigade

April 13th, 2009 · 2 Comments

The goat brigade decided to teach a visiting dog a lesson about goats.  I doubt that the poor thing will forget it soon.  My goaty girls are a little protective about dogs getting close to people.  They are pretty convinced that dogs are evil but as long as the dogs keep their distance from the herd (people are included in their herd) they tend to ignore them.  Let them get too close and they go into attack mode.

No one was hurt during the filming of this incident. Dog, goats and all settled it peacefully with the dog in the house and the goats ruling the yard.

Glad to hear the dog was ok. The pictures of the goat defending from the dog are classics though. Good thing the goat didn’t have horns or the dog might have never gone near goats again.

Hi Miriam, I don’t think the dog will go near the goats again anyway. Shiba’s are hunting dogs and they like to chase so it was a good lesson for him to learn. The goats are pretty able to take care of themselves against one dog but they are relatively defenseless if there is more than one.
